The Quality Manager is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the company's quality assurance and quality control programs to ensure products meet or exceed customer requirements, industry standards, and regulatory compliance. This role oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality systems, processes, and personnel in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Leadership
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company's Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO, AS9100, IATF 16949, or other applicable standards.
- Lead and mentor the quality team, including engineers, inspectors, and technicians.
- Product & Process Quality
- Oversee incoming inspection, in-process checks, and final product audits.
- Ensure root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (RCA/CAPA) are completed effectively and on time.
- Maintain robust control of nonconforming product handling, disposition, and rework processes.
- Customer & Supplier Quality
- Serve as the primary contact for quality-related customer communications, audits, and complaints.
- Develop supplier quality requirements and conduct supplier audits to ensure conformance.
- Continuous Improvement
- Drive process improvements through Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Analyze quality performance data, trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify and address areas for improvement.
- Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory, industry, and customer standards.
- Maintain accurate records for audits, certifications, and customer requirements.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field (required).
- 5+ years of quality management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, or other relevant standards.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with quality tools such as PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and 8D.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality management software.
Certifications (Preferred)
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Manager (CQM).
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
