Summary (Position Description): This position will be responsible for all activities relating to receiving inspection including but not limited to: management of master data and inspection plans, training, scheduling and prioritizing tasks, initiation of non-conformance process, 5S and accuracy of inventory under quality control.

Reports To: Quality Manager

Pay: $30 - $35

Shift: Day shift

Duties & Tasks

  • Ensure all components are inspected in time for the planned production build schedule.
  • Maintain accuracy of quality quarantine location.
  • Understand the material traceability requirements for agency and code approvals. Ensure material traceability requirements are met.
  • Ensure receiving inspection process targets are met and counteractions are taken in case of deviations.
  • Initiate non-conformance process on incoming goods, control material based on team disposition.
  • Support root cause analysis.
  • Maintain control charts on quality related processes and inspection equipment
  • Write and maintain quality procedures
  • Support activities required for ISO-14000
  • Provide direction and define requirements of inspection technicians; Assist with inspection of parts and usage decisions when needed.
  • Motivate and support Metrology Lab employees on BITZER vision and department KPI's
  • Interpret engineering drawing requirements
  • Track inspection lot progress and status in SAP, assisting with dispositions as required
  • Keep meticulous records and possess excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Complete daily/weekly/monthly reports as required
  • Train new employees in SAP, daily activities and general receiving inspection flow
  • Keep quality lab and surrounding areas clean and neat in accordance with BIPROS and 5S standards.
  • Use BIPROS continuous improvement practices in Inspection areas to improve overall production efficiency and housekeeping of facility.
  • Responsible to adequately qualify Quality Inspectors and provide feedback on effectiveness of training including updating the qualification matrix.
  • Perform other Quality related training
  • Other tasks as assigned by management

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

  • Ability to work effectively in a group or team environment required
  • Intermediate knowledge of Engineering drawing and GD&T
  • Knowledge of general inspection methods and gages required
  • Knowledge of ISO:9001
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 a plus
  • Gage and tool design experience a plus
  • SAP experience a plus

Requirements:

  • Associates degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to effectively meet and communicate with employees, the public and vendors.
  • Daily contact requires courtesy, discretion and sound judgment.
  • Solid PC skills using Microsoft Office software, as well as a working knowledge of general office equipment (photocopier, fax machine, phones.)
  • Good written communication skills and effective organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collectively with others within the organization.

Work Environment:

· This job is performed in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Demands:

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; bend; stoop; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
