Sullivan University is seeking a bold, visionary leader to drive the full-scale implementation of its Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), focused on student reading comprehension. The Director of the Quality Enhancement Plan will serve as staff while carrying a maximum faculty teaching load of two courses per quarter.This unique position will support student success by building strong partnerships with faculty, leading curriculum integration, and overseeing the university-wide rollout of the QEP, while ensuring alignment with Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) accreditation standards and upholding Sullivan University's mission, vision, and the Sullivan University System (SUS) Strategic Plan.Responsibilities Of The Position Include
  • Manages ongoing implementation and activities of Sullivan University's existing QEP framework (Improving Reading Comprehension Using SOAR (Select, Organize, Associate, Regulate).
  • Once current QEP is completed, work with university faculty and administration to develop and implement the next QEP.
  • Supervises the QEP Executive Committee and its subcommittees, overseeing all day-to-day operations.
  • Oversees the data-driven foundation for all QEP activities, assessments, and outcomes.
  • Reviews and monitors SACSCOC requirements to ensure Sullivan University's compliance.
  • Leads the QEP Assessment Plan, conducting annual formative assessments of student learning outcomes, maintaining all related records and data, and producing the summative assessment for the five-year interim report.
  • Prepares detailed analyses of QEP implementation and performance using benchmarks and student learning outcomes to measure progress toward achieving QEP goals.
  • Manages the QEP budget.
  • Acts as liaison and coordinator with external stakeholders as appropriate to gather input for QEP implementation and ongoing development.
  • Provides leadership in designing and implementing policies, procedures, facilities, and job descriptions necessary to achieve QEP goals.
  • Collaborates with the Provost and Executive Director of Academic Operations/PDSO to ensure QEP goals align with other ongoing university initiatives and the Sullivan University System Strategic Plan.
  • Works with faculty, directors/chairs, and deans to supervise curriculum development strategies, sourcing, and pedagogy development needed for QEP implementation.
  • Manages the QEP master training schedule and partners with the Provost to source and deliver professional development opportunities for faculty and staff related to QEP initiatives.
  • Collaborates with marketing and appropriate university personnel to support and advise on the QEP communication strategy, helping build awareness and inform the university community about the purpose and value of the QEP across all Sullivan University locations.
  • Teaches a course load of up to two courses per term as assigned by the VP/Provost (or designee) and performs faculty duties as outlined in the faculty job description.
  • Assists the Assistant Provost for Accreditation with SACSCOC-related accreditation reports and activities
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • A master's degree in English, Reading, Communications, Education, or a related field.
  • Three years of higher education teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
  • An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
  • Proven expertise in planning and executing operational plans, managing projects, programs, budgeting, and cost control (PMP preferred).
  • Ability to diagnose, plan, and manage resource requirements, including staffing, budgets, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of education research methods, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and action research practices.
  • Knowledge of the SOAR (Select, Organize, Associate, Regulate) framework or similar reading comprehension frameworks and their application in higher education settings.
  • Capable of developing and/or utilizing statistical models to assess student learning outcomes related to the QEP and database management.
  • Strong managerial and team-building skills, with a demonstrated ability to develop cooperative relationships among faculty, administration, staff, and executive leadership.
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook and similar programs.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail, interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral), problem solving, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain concentration and attention to detail during extended work periods.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students both orally and in writing.
