Due to the retirement of a long-term employee, manufacturer is seeking a degreed Quality Engineer to join their quality engineering team. The Quality Engineer will be assigned to a specific area of the plant and will report to the Quality Manager. Daily responsibilities will include:
Candidates should be interested in leading and participating in teams to meet quality initiatives. This position requires candidates to be on the manufacturing floor up to 30% of their day. Individuals should have excellent floor communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with front line associates. This position offers a combination of root cause analysis and new program work. Medical benefits are available the first of the month after 30 days of employment. REQUIREMENTS for the Quality Engineer:
1. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a technical field
2. At least three years of experience working in mass production manufacturing environments as a quality, process or manufacturing engineer
3. Experience working with quality systems (ISO, IATF, etc.)
4. Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions
5. Experience utilizing formal problem solving tools
6. Ability to read blueprints
7. Mechanical aptitude
8. Microsoft Excel experience, including charts, graphs and formulas
Skills but NOT required:
1. Experience completing audits
2. Statistical process control
3. Automotive supplier experience
4. Six Sigma or Lean certifications
5. PPAP and FMEA documentation
6. ERP system experience
7. Launch, validation, trial runs, prototyping, etc.
