Quality Engineer - Impact Business Group : Job Details

Job Description Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-driven Quality Engineer to join their Quality Department in Belding, MI. This role plays a key part in developing and maintaining quality strategies, policies, and systems across the organization and its supply chain. The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement initiatives, support internal and external audits, provide training, and ensure compliance with critical industry standards such as IATF 16949 and ISO 9001. • Oversee internal and external customer concerns (Ford, GM, Honda, Toyota, etc.).
• Support the plant's internal audit system and corrective action reporting processes.
• Assist the Quality Manager in hosting external Quality System audits.
• Provide training to the Quality Team and broader plant teams on quality issues and business processes.
• Coordinate reviews of quality procedures that support plant continuous improvement initiatives.
• Promote industry-standard quality techniques such as Six Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), and Measurement System Analysis.
• Stay current with manufacturing and engineering trends that impact product quality.
• Manage special projects as needed and report progress at project meetings.
• Plan, track, and present project tasks and results to key stakeholders.
• Liaise and communicate effectively with other departments, customers, suppliers, and service providers.
• Apply understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
• Champion Core Quality Tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC in the automotive manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 5+years of quality engineering experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment
• 3+years of quality engineering experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
• Familiar with IATF 16949 standards
