Description

The Quality Engineer Consultant will lead testing efforts for enterprise applications, focusing on validating UI, API, and data layers. The role involves developing and maintaining test automation frameworks, collaborating with software engineers and analysts, and executing tests throughout the software development lifecycle. The consultant will champion quality assurance by designing efficient test plans and integrating automated testing into continuous delivery pipelines.

Required Skills

• Over 5 years of experience in software testing and test automation framework development
• Proficiency in automation scripting using Python/Pytest, or alternatives like C#/.Net (xUnit/NUnit) or Java (Junit/TestNG)
• Experience with test automation tools such as Pytest-BDD, Playwright, or Selenium
• Strong understanding of database testing and query writing using SQL
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL or equivalent relational databases
• Skilled in developing and troubleshooting automated test pipelines and CI/CD integrations
• Hands-on experience with testing APIs and distributed systems
• Proven expertise in designing and scaling test harnesses or automation infrastructure
• Analytical mindset with the ability to trace and resolve complex issues

Desired Skills

• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Prefect or Tidal
• Knowledge of financial systems or trading/back-office terminology is a plus
• Familiarity with behavior-driven development frameworks (e.g., Pytest-BDD, Behave)
