Job Description The Quality Engineer (Aerospace) will be responsible for:
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards such as AS9100, ISO9001, and NADCAP across all manufacturing processes.
  • Serve as the primary quality contact for internal teams and OEM customers, supporting audits, inspections, and process qualifications.
  • Lead and support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions using tools like 8D, DMAIC, and FMEA.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve quality documentation, including procedures, inspection plans, and work instructions.
  • Oversee and perform source inspections, dimensional checks, and non-destructive testing to ensure product conformity.
  • Analyze nonconformances and returned products, managing disposition of nonconforming materials and MRB activities.
  • Support engineering in new product and process introduction, including PPQ, SSP, and contract reviews.
  • Participate in and lead internal and external audits, generating reports and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC).
  • Interface cross-functionally with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and customer service to resolve quality issues.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen events and quality training programs.
  • Ensure calibration and inspection systems are maintained and compliant with industry and customer standards.

The Successful Applicant The successful Quality Engineer (Aerospace) applicant will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a quality engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with AS9100, ISO9001, and NADCAP quality systems.
  • Prior work with large OEMs in aerospace, defense, or industrial sectors is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with FAA or nuclear industry standards is a plus.
  • Proven ability to manage source inspections, audits, and customer quality requirements.
  • Skilled in nonconformance analysis, root cause investigation, and corrective action planning.
  • Experience with quality tools such as 8D, DMAIC, FMEA, DOE, and SPC.
  • Proficient in developing and maintaining quality procedures, inspection plans, and technical documentation.
  • Strong understanding of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams and with external customers.
