Quality Control Inspector-Mods Company: Boeing Aerospace Operations Boeing Global Services is seeking JAWACS Quality Inspectors to join our Quality team based in San Antonio, TX. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. Position Responsibilities:
- Communicate as required to receive and understand work assignments. Perform complex aircraft , tooling and part inspections, with minimal supervision.
- Considerable initiative, ingenuity and judgment required to perform a variety of complex functional and structural inspections. Work independently toward general results, devise new methods and meet new conditions. Considerable initiative, judgment and ingenuity required to perform a variety of complex visual, dimensional, operational and safety checks of entire aircraft.
- Perform incoming aircraft accountability/inventory inspections in accordance with technical data, drawings, work instructions, etc.
- Inspect wire bundles, electrical and electronic components for proper removal and installation in aircraft
- Perform structural inspection of aircraft and aircraft components for corrosion, fastener removals/installations, panel removals/installations and overall serviceability of structural components.
- Observe and/or perform in-process and completed aircraft operational checkout of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems to determine structural and functional soundness of aircraft.
- Perform operational checkout of aircraft prior to and during preflight, including sign-off and release of aircraft for flight.
- Use a variety of inspection aids, and precision testing and measurement equipment such as ohmmeters, output meters, calipers, feeler gauges, scales, ball gauges, and micrometers necessary to determine proper adjustment and operation of aircraft systems.
- Prepare documents incidental to the accomplishment of inspection assignments.
- Serve as the Quality Assurance representative for Material Review actions on the evaluation and disposition of items submitted for consideration.
- Perform duties assigned to Inspector-Support classification (when qualified) as directed by management.
- Able to clearly document maintenance and repair actions, equipment status tags, logs, parts requests, etc.
- Able to perform assigned duties while wearing required safety equipment.
- Able to perform assigned duties on all shifts without encumbrances due to weather or physical location and conditions.
- May order parts, tools, materials, and equipment as required to perform assigned duties.
- Responsible for complying with all rules and regulations concerning health and safety, tool control, FOD, contracts, facilities, housekeeping, inventory control and other pertinent coverages.
- Performs other duties as directed by supervision and management for the benefit of the company, program, and employee(s).
- Must have knowledge of shop mathematics, thorough knowledge of required specifications, assembly and electrical procedures, electronic theory and equipment, procedures, processes, and maintenance/modification practices.
- Must be able to work from assembly and wire drawings, templates, specifications, handbook formulas, etc.
- Must be thoroughly familiar with the specification requirements, processing and company procedures related to this job classification.
- Responsible for quality and efficiency of all installations; ensure all parts/assembly meet requirements. Document necessary rework to ensure installations meet conformity.
- Properly identify (tag) customer property and equipment. Store aircraft components and other customer property securely and safely.
- Update and sign required logs and records as required.
- Check own work and may be required to check work of other team members to ensure a defect free installation prior to final inspection.
- Maintains a neat and orderly work area, supports the company FOD and 5S programs and complies with all safety regulations.
- Follow standard operating procedures when operating ground support equipment (external power carts, hydraulic mules, hydraulic lift platforms, tow tugs, forklifts, compressed gas cylinders, etc.)
- Ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): - 3+ or more years experience in aircraft maintenance
- 3+ years experience in reading blueprints and structural drawings
- 3+ experience in setting and using precision measuring tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and/or dial indicators.
- Familiarity with quality standards and specifications: Understanding industry guidelines (like AS9100 in aerospace) and internal company standards.
- Strong attention to detail: A critical requirement for meticulous examination of materials and documentation.
- Experience with Non-Conformance (NCR) processes
- Must be willing to work any shift
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): - Experience with large aircraft
- Proficient with technical data
- Proficient with maintenance manuals/technical orders
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Proficient in iGold
