SHIFT

Shift 1 (United States of America - Alabama)

A BRIEF OVERVIEW

As a Quality Control Inspector I, you will play an essential role in performing various inspections on incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products. Working under supervision, you will gain meaningful experience by utilizing GD&T principles and ensuring compliance with our quality standards.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Conduct visual and attribute inspections for quality assurance.
  • Review CMM Reports and 2D Matrix Reports.
  • Verify certifications and open/run Work To List.
  • Utilize basic knowledge of our visual management system (GYRO).
  • Identify and report Non-Conforming Material using NCMRs and Redtags.
  • Complete all necessary inspections, including laser pattern inspections and DHR reviews.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices during inspections.
  • Perform testing and visual inspections to confirm that raw materials meet specifications.
  • Use measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gages for precise measurements.
  • Engage in physical and cosmetic inspections, ensuring equipment is well-maintained.
  • Communicate potential nonconforming issues to Quality Management.
  • Assist in training new inspection personnel and advocating for health and safety.
  • Complete First Article Inspections and support production needs.
  • Work collaboratively to ensure quality and compliance with all procedures and documentation.
  • Fulfill all required training for continued skill development.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • No prior work experience required, though experience in a Scientific Field or Quality Inspection is preferred.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Any Technical Trade School (Preferred)
  • Any American Society for Quality certification (Preferred)

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS THAT ENABLE SUCCESS

  • Strong mathematical and data entry skills.
  • Proficiency in computer usage and communication.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in quality inspection.
  • Knowledge of Quality Inspection Metrology Tools and GD&T.
  • Effective time management and problem-solving abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Capability to navigate within the facility and handle equipment.
  • Effective communication and information exchange.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Noise exposure may be present occasionally.
