SHIFT INFORMATION

2nd Shift (ALA - Shift 3) with a $3 shift differential.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Control Inspector I plays a critical role in maintaining product quality through meticulous inspection and testing. Under supervision, this position involves performing various types of inspections—ensuring all components and finished products meet stringent standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct visual inspections and attribute assessments.
  • Review CMM Reports and 2D Matrix Reports for accuracy.
  • Verify certifications and compliance with Orchid's standards.
  • Manage inspection processes efficiently through our visual management system.
  • Identify and document Non-Conforming Materials (NCMRs) and related issues.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all inspections and data collected.
  • Perform testing and inspection at various production stages, ensuring customer specifications are met.
  • Utilize measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gages to assess quality.
  • Foster a safe and compliant workplace by adhering to all quality management systems.
  • Participate in training and foster continuous improvement within team processes.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience is not required, but familiarity with scientific fields and quality inspection is a plus.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and data entry accurately.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Attention to detail and quality assurance practices.
  • Experience with quality inspection tools and techniques.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Occasional movement around the facility and maneuvering equipment.
  • Frequent communication and interaction with team members.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Typical industrial noise levels.
