Responsible for providing direction, support, and overseeing all operational processes and procedures, whereby maximizing the profitable utilization of personnel, equipment, and materials to produce quality products delivered on time and within cost objectives.
Sets the expectations for a safe, clean work environment meeting all local, state, and federal guidelines and requirements.
Ensure that quality control procedures are implemented and maintained throughout the manufacturing, finishing, and fulfillment departments, and parts are being produced according to specifications
Ensures overseas samples meet our specifications and requirements per blueprints
Schedule and lead the Quality Assurance Department.
Work closely with the Setup/Fixture Dept. and other production managers to ensure quality and timeliness of each order.
Continuous improvement initiatives to improve overall company performance.
Supervision of QC inspectors (2).
Establish critical quality characteristics for inspection.
Ensuring compliance with existing standards for incoming material.
Evaluating the form, fit, and functionality of incoming and outgoing products.
Prioritizing all tasks and requests of the QA department.
Conducting root cause analysis.
Review and analyze quality department reports.
Compile and summarize quality reports for presentation to management
Schedule and lead MRB (Material Review Board) meetings.
Provide support to manufacturing.
Develop and implement corrective actions.
Review, analyze, and communicate inspection results on import/domestic prototype samples to Design Engineers and Project Managers.
Provide support to other departments to interpret industry standards and perform various tests.
3+ years of supervisory experience
5+ years of Quality Assurance experience
Good organizational skills
Good communication skills
Good computer skills (Excel, Word, PDF, and Outlook)
Good problem-solving skills
Strong mechanical aptitude
Experience with metal fabrication equipment (press welders, press brakes, robotic equipment, CNC wire formers, punch presses, MIG welding, etc.)
Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing practices
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Capability Studies
Skilled with most measuring instruments, micrometers, calipers, protractors, and Rockwell hardness testers.
Familiar with ASTM, ANSI, STI, and other standards.
Good general knowledge of different materials such as CQ and PQ steel, plastics, wood, fastening hardware, etc.
Knowledge of Inferential Statistics
Excellent blueprint reading skills.
