What You'll Be Doing:
As a supervisor, you will be responsible for performing Quality Assurance (QA) surveillance and monitoring tasks as outlined in the QA Program Manual. You will assist in planning daily and weekly schedules, establishing priorities based on general work directives, methods, and instructions from higher-level supervisors. A strong understanding of sampling plans, statistical analysis, Acceptable Quality Levels (AQLs), noncompliance reporting, and evaluation procedures is required.
In this role, you will analyze results, prepare comprehensive reports, and present findings to the manager. Under the guidance and direction of the Quality Assurance/Inspections Manager, you will oversee routine inspections, inactivation and activation processes, disposal inspections, and those requiring certifications, including hazardous materials and radiation-related evaluations. You will also prepare detailed written reports and inspection documentation, demonstrating a thorough knowledge of sampling plans and quality assurance protocols.

Requirements:
Minimum: A high school diploma or equivalent, along with a minimum of eight (8) years of ship maintenance experience or relevant military experience, is required for this position. Candidates must qualify as a Shipyard Competent Person (Gas-Free) and AHERA Building Inspector within 90 to 120 days of hire. Preferred qualifications include an associate degree in a technical field, U.S. Navy or shipyard experience, and at least two (2) years of experience as an AHERA Building Inspector and Shipyard Competent Person (Gas-Free).
The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to thoroughly document findings. A strong knowledge of ship systems and equipment, as well as a comprehensive understanding of routine maintenance and preservation practices, is essential. Proficiency in operating standard Microsoft Office products and the ability to instruct ship personnel on inactivation procedures are also required. Additionally, candidates must be capable of inspecting, understanding, and adjusting ship cathodic protection and dehumidification systems, as well as interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and documentation.
Candidates should possess knowledge of the requirements for Shipyard Competent Person and AHERA Building Inspector certifications, including an understanding of the structure, location, and designation of workspaces. The ability to calibrate and use testing equipment, conduct tests and inspections, evaluate spaces for Marine Chemist testing, and maintain records in compliance with 29 CFR 1915 Subpart B is critical. A valid driver's license is required, and candidates must be qualified to operate government or company vehicles in accordance with the Corporate Fleet Vehicle Safety Manual.
Knowledge Required:
Knowledge of shipboard-installed systems, standard maintenance procedures, and the inactivation process, along with all applicable governing documents, is required. Proficiency in general computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office products is essential. Additionally, a working knowledge of the Work Management System (WMS) and government-provided software is expected.
