Quality Assurance ManagerPosition Summary:Trillium is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead all aspects of our Quality Assurance (QA) program across the brewery operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the production of high-quality, safe, and consistent products. With leading the development and implementation of QA systems, SOPs, and cross-departmental initiatives, supporting continuous improvement and regulatory compliance. The Quality Assurance Manager conducts data-driven analysis, manages sensory and laboratory programs, and partners with internal teams to address risks and maintain operational excellence. This position will be primarily located at our Canton location, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and professional development, and ensuring the QA team is equipped to meet organizational goals. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and a commitment to driving quality and operational excellence.Job Duties & Responsibilities Quality Program Management

  • Lead the continuous improvement of Trillium's Quality Assurance (QA) program across brewery operations.
  • Maintain and refine QA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency audit readiness and minimize operator variability.
  • Align production SOPs with QA standards, supporting cross-departmental collaboration to ensure product quality, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
Sampling & Analytical Oversight
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and record-keeping systems for in-process and finished goods sampling.
  • Ensure quality control checks meet or exceed established Minimum Check Frequencies.
  • Conduct advanced root cause analyses and problem-solving to address quality or process-related issues.
  • Analyze technical and statistical data to identify trends and recommend quality improvements.
Laboratory & Sensory Program Management
  • Oversee daily lab operations, including maintenance, calibration, and procurement of laboratory equipment (e.g., Alcolyzer, Spectrophotometer, pH meter).
  • Manage the sensory program, including training panelists and ensuring brand consistency and off-flavor detection protocols.
  • Conduct benchtop trials and ingredient assessments to support production troubleshooting and process improvements.
  • Evaluate new ingredients and processing agents for suitability and quality impact.
Supplier & Traceability Programs
  • Assist in supplier evaluations and audits to ensure raw materials and packaging meet Trillium's quality standards.
  • Manage track-and-trace protocols for finished goods to support product traceability, recall readiness, and compliance.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
  • Monitor adherence to company and regulatory guidelines to ensure the safety and quality of all beer products.
  • Lead initiatives related to QA safety, financial performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Promote a culture of safety across all brewery operations.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Provide strategic leadership, technical guidance, and planning support to QA direct reports.
  • Manage department workload and ensure resources are effectively allocated.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop QA team members, facilitating opportunities for cross-functional exposure and professional growth.
Training & Communication
  • Organize and promote training programs to enhance team expertise and activities in quality, systems, process reliability, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure effective, consistent, and transparent communication within the QA team and across departments to support information flow and alignment of objectives.
Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.Desired Qualifications & AbilitiesQualifications & Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in food science, biology, microbiology, or chemistry.
  • Certificate in brewing science course preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience required.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across functions and levels.

  • Experience with production management software, CMMS, HRIS systems, and the Google Suite (including proficiency in Google Sheets).
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization skills; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
