Job Summary
At Charles River Laboratories, we seek a highly motivated and energetic candidate to join our growing business in the CMO industry. The QC Analyst I will perform microbiological testing, monitor classified clean room areas (both static and dynamic), and support manufacturing processes. All team members are expected to demonstrate Charles River DNA characteristics and behaviors: Care, Lead, Own, and Collaborate.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform viable and non-viable environmental monitoring in static and dynamic environments.
- Conduct water quality analysis testing such as TOC and conductivity testing.
- Demonstrate excellent aseptic technique and clean room gowning practices required for working in Grade C, B, and A spaces.
- Perform bioburden testing following current cGMP guidelines to support product development and raw material release.
- Conduct growth promotion, microbial identification, colony streak isolation, and biological indicator testing in a BSL2 environment.
- Ensure accurate data entry in accordance with data integrity standards and ALCOA principles.
- Assist in laboratory investigations, environmental monitoring excursions, and deviations.
- Participate in and facilitate ongoing lab excellence initiatives as directed by senior staff or management.
- Work outside of normal business hours as needed.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Job Qualifications
- B.S. in Biology or related field.
- 1-2 years of GMP facility experience preferred but not required.
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to work in a clean room with appropriate gowning and PPE.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic lab skills or science background is desired.
Compensation
The pay range for this position is $24.00 – $26.00 per hour, based on experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
