Job DescriptionESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:Technician Functions
  • Continually inspect all products during manufacturing to required specification, blueprint, code and Quality Assurance requirements are met or exceeded including:
    • All traceability, paperwork and materials used are correct and match the print.
    • Assures all calibration of quality and production measuring tools are kept up to date
    • All fabrication welds and weld procedures are correct.
    • Products meet all applicable codes as outlined per ASME
    • Fabrication procedures and products are tested and inspected as required
    • Company standards for quality are met.
  • Assists the ASME Inspector with code inspections when in house.
In-Process Inspection:
  • Demonstrates self-motivation in completing tasks on time with little supervision during inspections.
  • Assures production personnel are preforming in-process inspection during the fabrication process.
  • Perform random inspection activities at a frequency determined by Quality Management.
  • Operate proper measuring and test equipment in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Identifies areas of opportunities within the manufacturing process and relays this information to management.
  • Assists Quality Assurance Department in special projects or systems development.
  • Properly utilize the non-conforming product systems to document defects with the process.
  • Assist in corrective action root cause analysis when deemed necessary by Quality Manager.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the calibration process, and assist in performing calibration activities on measuring and test equipment in the use of quality and/or production personnel.
  • Investigate and document possible root causes of in process deficiencies and propose preventative measures to eliminate the deficiencies.
  • Will perform required and random inspections as needed in production and record as necessary.
  • Assist in calibration activates under direction of the QA Manager.
  • Uphold all components of the ISO, ASME, and other applicable codes to assure compliance of product manufactured at this location.
EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE:
  • Tape measure, levels, calipers, micrometer, thread gauges, pressure gauges, ultrasonic thickness gauge, mill thickness gauge, and other measure & test equipment.
  • Basic hand tools (both manual and power).
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to work will in a fast paced environment to meet team expectations.
  • Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations to perform the job.
  • Must have a basic understanding of computers.
  • Must have reading, writing and simple math skills.
  • Must be able to read blue prints.
  • Must have either a High School diploma, GED, or at least 1 year working experience in Quality Assurance inspection experience in a manufacturing and/or fabrication setting preferred.
  • Welding experience in pressure vessels.
  • Experience with materials, particularly with stainless steel and carbon.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in all facets of quality assurance, including ISO, statistical process control, and measurement and testing (X-ray, RT, PT) techniques a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of ASME and other applicable codes and Q.A. standards.
  • Working knowledge of layout equipment: calipers, micrometers, depth gages, PT equipment, ultra-sonic testing equipment, dial indicators, protractors, English and metric tape measures, fillet gages, calculators and computer terminal.
  • Professionalism and respect at all times with internal and external customers.
