We are seeking a highly organized, detail-orientedQuality Assurance & Compliance Managerto lead our quality initiatives and play a key role in driving our BRCGS (British Retail Consortium Global Standard) certification efforts.
The Opportunity:
As the QA & Compliance Manager, you will oversee quality assurance protocols across our Virginia warehouse while supporting our broader food safety and compliance programs. You will be responsible for leading internal audits, maintaining SOPs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and preparing for third-party certifications. You'll work cross-functionally with warehouse, operations, and leadership teams to uphold the highest standards in product quality, traceability, and warehouse hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:BRCGS Certification & Food Safety
- Lead the site's BRCGS certification process from start to finish, including documentation, internal audits, and training.
- Develop, implement, and maintain food safety plans, quality manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure ongoing compliance with FDA, GMP, HACCP, and customer-specific standards.
Quality Assurance & Control
- Monitor warehouse operations for compliance with quality protocols.
- Conduct root cause analyses for quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Perform inspections on inbound and outbound goods for quality and food safety criteria.
Documentation & Recordkeeping
- Maintain all quality and compliance documentation in a well-organized, audit-ready manner.
- Update logs, inspection records, traceability documentation, and supplier certifications as needed.
- Ensure accurate digital filing of procedures, audits, and compliance reports.
Internal Audits & Continuous Improvement
- Plan and execute regular internal audits and mock recalls to maintain audit readiness.
- Collaborate with operations and leadership to identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Analyze quality trends and implement data-driven improvements.
Training & Communication
- Train warehouse staff on food safety protocols, BRC requirements, and company quality procedures.
- Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and compliance across all departments.
Qualifications:
- 3–5+ years of experience in quality assurance or compliance within food packaging, manufacturing, or food service industries.
- Strong understanding of BRCGS, HACCP, GMP, FDA, and other food safety standards.
- Proficient computer skills, including ERP systems (e.g., Odoo), Microsoft Excel, Word, and cloud-based file systems.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience managing or supporting third-party audits preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
Location:
This is a full-time, on-site position based inDrakes Branch, VA. Occasional travel to our Texas warehouse may be required.
