Title: Python Engineer (Backend)

Location: Charlotte, NC -- Hybrid - 3 days onsite in Charlotte office

Duration: 12 months

Onsite Interview: Must be conducted in one of the following locations: Dallas, TX; Malvern, PA; Charlotte, NC. Candidates can interview in any of these locations but must relocate to NC after receiving the offer.

Requirements:

  • Proof of degree certificate and GPA score is required.
  • Need date of birth (MM/DD).
  • Need last 4 digits of SSN.
  • No VOIP or Google Voice numbers accepted.
  • LinkedIn profile required.
    • Manager notes:
    • Index Funds team - some active funds.
    • Different approach to processing data; proprietary system that is AWS Cloud-based architecture and services.
    • This person should be very strong in Python and AWS.
    • Product Owner will conduct interviews, looking for someone with the ability to collaborate with portfolio managers, understand processing needs, and propose solutions.
    • Must have excellent people skills for client interactions and translating business requirements.
    • Platform is AIML-based.
    • Key skills: Python, AWS, good communication skills.
    • Domain knowledge in financial services/investments is a plus but not required.
    Must haves:
  • 6+ years of experience as a Python engineer.
  • Strong Python software development experience, especially with analytic applications and large datasets.
  • Proficient in Python libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, Dash, Dask, Flask, Boto3, etc.
  • Strong SQL expertise, including query tuning.
  • Experience building and supporting AWS architecture using services like EC2, CloudWatch, ECS, SageMaker, Step Functions, Lambda, Postgres, Aurora.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Bamboo, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Ansible.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals: object-oriented design, data structures, dependency injection, testing, algorithms.
  • Familiarity with software engineering tools like PyCharm, VS Code, Git.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and readable code.
  • Highly collaborative, quick learner, adaptable.
  • Enthusiastic about learning and experimenting with new technologies and tools.
