Purchasing Specialist
Temp to Perm
Full Time, M-F 8:00am-5:00pm
Hourly Pay Range: $24-$28
Responsibilities
- Assist in the procurement of materials, supplies, and services based on company requirements.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Monitor and track order status, ensuring on-time delivery and resolving any delays.
- Maintain supplier records and update purchasing databases.
- Communicate with vendors to confirm orders, negotiate pricing, and manage contracts.
- Support inventory management by tracking stock levels and coordinating replenishments.
- Work closely with internal departments to ensure procurement needs are met.
- Assist in resolving invoice discrepancies and processing payments with the finance team.
- Stay updated on market trends, supplier options, and cost-saving opportunities.
Qualifications
- Must have at least an associate's degree.
- If candidates are jumpy, we need to provide the explanation for leaving their last roles.
Required Skills
- 1-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure accurate procurement of technical components and materials.
- Experience in sourcing materials and suppliers from international markets, ensuring compliance with trade regulations and optimizing cost efficiencies.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
- Experience with ERP or procurement software.
- Knowledge of supply chain and procurement best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
