DescriptionWeitsman Recycling, a leader in the scrap metal and recycling industry, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to support procurement and sales operations across our multi-site organization. This role is essential in managing purchase orders, coordinating inventory, and supporting vendor and internal communications to ensure seamless supply chain performance. Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and process purchase orders in line with internal procurement policies
  • Match and reconcile purchase orders, packing slips, and vendor invoices
  • Source inventory internally and externally to meet operational demands
  • Support quoting, pricing, and deal approvals for the sales team
  • Maintain accurate inventory and purchasing records in company systems
  • Communicate promptly and professionally with vendors and internal teams
  • Assist with warranty claims, freight compliance, and product inspections
  • Monitor vendor programs, rebates, and tariff-related processes
Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
  • 2+ years of purchasing, inventory, or procurement experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and business systems (ERP/Inventory platforms)
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and perform in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of irrigation parts, tariffs, or chemical compliance is a plus
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship
