Summary of Position:
Leader in Purchasing/Supply Chain team responsible for identifying and qualifying new suppliers as well as developing existing suppliers. Additionally, responsible for ensuring materials are procured and delivered on time and on budget as required to support production and customer needs.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead activities related to material planning and purchasing.
- Places orders for raw materials based on detailed review and evaluation of the monthly demand/build plans.
- Identify & qualify new suppliers as required to support business objectives.
- Establish and maintain relationships with supply partners and vendors.
- MRB/Quality team member.
- Monitor and Optimize Supply Chain Performance
- Vendor pricing
- Vendor quality data
- Inbound Shipping costs
- Tariff costs & optimization
- Import / Export regulation compliance
- Manage the performance of direct report(s).
- Maintain a reliable workforce ensuring all employees are adequately trained including in all safety procedures allowing for work in a safe manner and safe environment.
- Implements short terms and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures that supports company business plans.
- In collaboration with Director, Supply Chain, interviews, hires/fires Employees for purchasing Dept.
- Responsible for department yearly reviews and approving payroll time cards.
- Works closely with other departments and organizations to provide support in meeting objectives.
- Drives cost reductions and continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility.
- Document and understand ERP Computer System (Netsuite).
- Lead or participate in special projects, as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- BS/BA degree in related discipline and minimum five (3) years of relevant work experience or, Equivalent combination of education and (5+) years of related experience in similar industry
- Minimum of 1+ year of managerial experience in relevant industry
- Strong interpersonal skills – team player/willingness to pitch in
- Strong verbal and written communications skills with audiences of all levels.
- Proficient at reading and interpreting mechanical drawings
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Proficient as using an MRP/ERP system in a manufacturing environment and complete understanding of BOM structures, demand planning, and inventory control. Oracle NetSuite experience .
- Must be able to define priorities based on critical requirements.
- Problem solving, results oriented and strong sense of urgency.
- Knowledge of Injection molding process desirable.
- Experienced in Electrical and/or Mechanical industry highly desired

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements of the Job:
- Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time; standing and walking occasionally
- Use of hands to type, take notes, reach with hand and arms
- Occasional lifting, can be up to 40 lbs.
- Willingness to work overtime as necessary to meet objectives
- Availability to travel for meetings to other company/business locations, including international travel.
- Exposed to warehouse weather conditions such as very hot or cold conditions
- Exposed to warehouse noise such as forklifts and trucks
