Job Summary

The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for directing end-to-end procurement strategy, optimizing supply chain processes, and integrating technology solutions. A key focus is building strong supplier relationships to ensure timely material availability and mitigate escalation risks across projects and business units. The role involves collaborating with project teams and field operations to address vendor challenges and leading a procurement team to foster performance, innovation, and collaboration. Responsibilities & Essential Functions

  • Operate with integrity and promote ethical procurement practices.
  • Communicate quarterly on commodity trends and supply chain risks to stakeholders.
  • Develop and negotiate vendor agreements to ensure competitive pricing and value.
  • Evaluate and review key suppliers to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Manage the purchasing strategy for projects, focusing on quarterly sheet metal procurement.
  • Maintain vendor scorecards and databases for data-driven decisions.
  • Implement bundling strategies to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Manage rebate partnerships and maximize financial returns.
  • Oversee EDI and lead technology initiatives to streamline workflows.
  • Collaborate on evolving ERP tools for better engagement.
  • Guide project buyouts with cross-departmental coordination.
  • Manage procurement technology platforms, ensuring effective use and adoption.
  • Lead process improvements to enhance accuracy, speed, and quality.
  • Resolve procurement challenges to minimize project delays.
  • Mentor and manage the procurement team, ensuring performance metrics are met.
  • Support managers in supply chain issues and procurement obstacles.
  • Represent Purchasing in operational meetings and risk assessments.
  • Travel quarterly to Charlotte for alignment and relationship building.
  • Build partnerships with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of procurement or supply chain experience.
  • 1-2 years in a managerial or project management role.
  • Knowledge of piping, plumbing, and sheet metal materials, with proficiency in Smartsheet.
