Purchasing Manager - Allparts : Job Details

Develops and leads all purchasing strategies with a focus on business growth in a cost-controlled environment. Leads critical decision-making in areas such as min-max strategy, on-hand inventory targets, adjustments for changing lead times, and analyzing/managing order point algorithms. Balances the goal of WOWing customers with on-hand inventory and managing inventory investment.

• Direct management of the buyer team responsible for all ordering, using current sales data, historical data, seasonality trends, and sales forecasts to determine appropriate quantities and timing.
• Communicate with internal departments and leadership regarding supplier performance and inventory availability.
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing for upcoming sales campaigns and promotions.
• Manage assigned categories with buyers.
• Coordinate with New Product Development to understand products.
• Work with suppliers to ensure consistent and timely order fulfillment.
• Analyze, anticipate, and react to product seasonality trends.
• Oversee training and onboarding for all buyers.
• Negotiate terms, pricing, lead times, and Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ) as needed.
• Update supplier information, pricing, MOQ, and lead times as needed.
• Communicate directly with suppliers regarding production plans and efficiency improvements.
• Provide accurate and timely reporting on inventory position, investment, and actions taken.

• Skills and abilities aligned with a college degree.
• 5-7 years of advanced purchasing and ERP experience with a bachelor's degree, or 10+ years of advanced purchasing and ERP experience.
• Proven track record of leading a team of buyers for at least 5 years.
• Proven experience in employee development and team advancement.
