Base pay range

$90,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr

About the Role:

HEMI is Hiring! HEMI Systems is seeking a dynamic and driven Manager of Purchasing to bolster our team and lead our procurement organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain and working knowledge of the construction industry. The ultimate deliverable being that the right materials, services, and equipment are in place when needed to ensure that our projects are successfully completed. This position will be based out of our Alpharetta, GA, Maysville, GA, and/or Beaumont, TX, corporate office locations. Our business is focused on building projects in the food & beverage, manufacturing, steel mill, EV, data center, aeronautical, energy, and mining sectors. Experience related to structural, mechanical, and/or piping project materials and services is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee procurement for materials, services, and construction equipment.
  • Pre-qualify, interact and negotiate with external vendors and subcontractors.
  • Develop relationships with preferred vendors, subcontractors, and HEMI project teams.
  • Manage the flow of Master Service Agreements, purchase orders, and subcontract agreements with project teams and internal SMEs.
  • Oversee purchasing policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Ensure that all employees under their purview are properly supported and developed.
  • Collaborate with projects to develop procurement plans and priorities.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Work with legal and accounting groups to resolve payment issues, change orders, etc.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, craft, subcontractors, and suppliers, addressing concerns and providing updates.
  • Monitor project progress and production, adjust plans as necessary, and report on project status to senior management.
  • Ensure all sourced items and services comply with relevant safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Implement best practices and lessons learned to enhance future project outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Supply Chain, Purchasing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience within a manufacturing or industrial construction project setting.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, project management software, and industry-specific tools.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
