Job Description

ACS System Associates Inc. is seeking a Purchasing Associate for Mechanical Construction to join our team. The role involves evaluating bid specifications and drawings, particularly in duct work, piping, and ATC design related to HVAC systems.

The ideal candidate should be proficient in reading CAD drawings, possess strong communication and coordination skills, and be self-motivated, detail-oriented, with the initiative to deliver innovative solutions.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for HVAC/R systems.
• Collaborate with Operations to determine budgets and strategic goals.
• Interface with Project Managers to ensure project delivery aligns with estimates and refine estimating formulas.
• Maintain an accurate database of prospective projects.
• Prepare bids and process them accordingly.
• Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to determine cost-effective solutions.
• Ensure proper coverage from subcontractors on bid day and follow up to receive bids.
• Verify that bids are correctly priced, including tax considerations.
• Review blueprints to delineate the scope of work accurately.
• Follow up on bids and budgets with General Contractors to close business.
• Negotiate change orders.

• Minimum 5 years of experience with HVAC, plumbing, and sprinkler estimating.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Excel, with excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of estimating strategies and techniques.
• Professional, ethical, and capable of maintaining confidentiality.
• Proven estimating experience.
