Purchasing Assistant (Part-Time, Contract)

Manchester, MI (on-site for training, then 100% remote)

Contract Length: 3 months (with potential for extension)

Start Date: ASAP

Schedule: Part-time – 16 hours per week

Ideal hours: Monday–Thursday, 9:00am–1:00pm

Flexibility needed to support PO requests throughout the week once remote

Pay Rate: $24/hour

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to support the procurement team with the timely and accurate creation and amendment of purchase orders (POs) in SAP. This is a 3-month part-time contract role offering flexible hours and the opportunity to work remotely following initial training in Manchester, MI.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and amend purchase orders in SAP following company guidelines and department input.
  • Ensure accuracy of PO details, confirming alignment with supplier quotes and terms.
  • Maintain clear documentation and centralized records for all POs created.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and procedures.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Prior hands-on experience using SAP
  • Experience with PO creation/modification preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
