The Purchasing Agent will have an opportunity to work at a respected public-sector organization and to lead and manage the competitive procurement process for goods, services, and construction projects. This is a high-impact role supporting educational initiatives through ethical, efficient, and compliant purchasing practices.On-siteTarget Salary: $90-$130K Depending on ExperienceBachelor's degree in Business, Procurement, Finance, or related fieldMinimum 5 years in public procurement; experience with Virginia procurement regulations is a plus.Certifications: CPPB, CPPO, or VCO preferred (or ability to obtain within 2 years).Strong knowledge of centralized purchasing, contract law, and public-sector procurement practices.Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the development and management of IFBs, RFPs, sole source, and emergency procurements in compliance with the Virginia Public Procurement Act (VPPA).Analyze requisitions, determine procurement methods, and prepare award recommendations and contracts.Administer and monitor contracts, ensuring vendor compliance and resolving disputes.Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to meet procurement needs.Conduct supplier evaluations, compliance reviews, and performance assessments.Represent the organization in procurement-related meetings and conferences.Support ERP initiatives and implement e-commerce solutions.Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed procurement reports.Apply today to be considered for this exciting opportunity to make a difference!Zing Recruiting, a leader in the staffing industry for the past 33 years, continues our vision of ‘linking' communities through employment.
