The closer proximity allows family, friends, and community to more actively support the treatment, recover, and aftercare of the patient. South Mississippi State Hospital serves Lamar, Forrest, Marion, Perry, Greene, Wayne, Jones, Covington, Jefferson Davis, Pearl River, Stone, Hancock, Harrison, George, Jackson, Pike, Walthall, Lawrence, Franklin, and Amite counties. Weekends and State Holidays off.* This is advanced-level vocational procurement work which involves purchasing materials, supplies, services, and equipment; maintaining and anticipating inventory usage and securing supplies; and interviewing vendors and state agency representatives to resolve purchasing matters. Incumbents work with purchasing orders, invoices, requisitions, and vouchers. Work also involves the direction and analysis of contract proposals and/or negotiations or the review and analysis of procurement information submitted by state agencies. The work may include responsibility for investigating current market prices and trends and the planning and administration of purchasing/contracts programs. Incumbents may also assist state agencies by initiating recommendations and procedures. Incumbents receive general supervision from a higher-level Analyst or other a supervisor/manager.* Requires High school diploma and 1 to 4 years of relevant experience.
