Public Safety Officer III - Syracuse University : Job Details

The Public Safety Officer III is responsible to enforce federal and state laws, local ordinances and University rules, regulations, policies and procedures, and to maintain order in an assigned area. Responsible for the detection and prevention of crime and the protection of life and property, providing active crime prevention, safety and security patrols in the community. Good customer service skills and proven oral and written communication skills are essential. Education and Experience Associate degree from an accredited college or university and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Possess valid drivers license and excellent driving record. Must be at least 21 years of age and must be a U.S. Citizen. Must be able to successfully complete New York State Bureau of Municipal Police Officer or Campus Public Safety Officer (with firearms) certification (approved through the Municipal Police Training Council pursuant to Education Law 6435).
