Public Safety Emergency Communications Senior Engineer (Onsite) – Brooklyn, NY

Responsibilities
- Deploy and support Emergency Communications network infrastructure, including racking and cabling equipment.
- Configure and test Emergency Communications network infrastructure.
- Provide technical support for E911 and NG911 telephony and telecommunications systems related to 911 call delivery to NYC Public Safety Answering Centers.
- Provide technical support for Text-to-911 (TT911) services, including inbound/outbound SMS, MMS, and RTT technology.
- Deliver technical support and oversight for vendor-managed ESInet services and systems.
- Provide technical support for Public Safety Unified Communications systems and services.
- Support emergency point-to-point, alarm relays, automated inbound 911 relays, telematics, and third-party 911 communications.
- Triage and investigate communication, infrastructure, and service failures; identify root cause and remediation.
- Provide technical support for 911 and TT911 test environments within the 911 lab; validate test cases and results.
- Deliver Emergency Communication technology asset management support and oversight.
- Coordinate technology deployments with 911 Originating Service Providers, neighboring jurisdictions, and Emergency Communications Relay Centers.
- Provide oversight of vendors supporting emergency communications, telecommunications services, and infrastructure.
- Perform data and performance analysis associated with communications services.
Mandatory Skills / Experience
- Experience: Minimum 12 years working in a data center or field supporting related work.
- 8+ years in network support and LAN/WAN troubleshooting.
- 8+ years in communications routing, transport, and delivery (Wireline, Wireless, VoIP).
- 8+ years using documentation tools (MS Excel, MS Visio, MS Word, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of networking hardware and topologies.
- Strong knowledge of telecommunication cabling standards; ability to pull and terminate cabling.
- Solid understanding of computing systems and hardware.
- Experience with LEC circuit termination and turn-up.
- Experience with land-mobile-radio systems (P25 conventional and trunked networks).
- Experience with call routing, selective routing, trunking, and location-based routing.
- Experience with Emergency Communications infrastructure, systems, applications, and technologies.
- Experience with DMS and ACD systems.
- Experience with ANI/ALI services and functionality.
- Experience with 911 Call Handling Systems.
- Experience with NG9-1-1 ESInet call routing.
- Experience with SMS, RTT, TCC routing, and SMS aggregation.
- Experience with third-party emergency communication system integrations.
- Experience with GIS and location-based identification systems.
- Experience with 911-related TDOS and DDOS risk mitigation.
- Ability to perform physical work related to the job.
- Ability to follow detailed job documents.
- Willingness to travel within the NYC region to meet customer SLAs.
- Willingness to work on-call, after hours, and weekends when required.
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills with ability to communicate clearly and confidently.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
