Gavin de Becker & Associates (GDBA) protects the world's most influential and at-risk public figures. Founded in 1978 by 3-time Presidential appointee Gavin de Becker, our firm's Protectors, Analysts, and Investigators are dedicated to our mission of protecting human life through assessment, prediction, and management of violence.

Compensation: A newly hired Protector selected for a Team Leader role in Seattle will earn at least $80,000 in their first year, with potential earnings up to $110,000.

Advancement: Team Leader positions are earned based on merit, relevant experience, and performance in GDBA Training Academy. Protectors excelling in their roles and ongoing training can pursue an accelerated pathway to leadership through the Two-Year Professional Leadership Track (PLT).

This is a full-time position with benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and 401(k).

We seek qualified individuals from diverse backgrounds to contribute their skills to our protective mission. As a Team Leader, you will lead and train protector teams, utilize GDBA's resources, and safeguard clients in various challenging situations.

Ideal Candidate:

  • 3+ years of close/executive protection experience for high-net-worth or at-risk clients.
  • Experience in Residential, Corporate, Technology, or Military/Law Enforcement Protective Security Details (PSD) preferred.
  • International or domestic travel experience is a plus.
  • 3+ years as a certified law enforcement officer.
  • HR-218 (LEOSA) eligibility or a CCW permit is notable.
  • 2+ years as an Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT), Paramedic (NREMT-P), or Registered Nurse (RN); military medical experience also accepted.

Your Role as a Team Leader:

  • Communicate directly with clients and become subject-matter experts for specific assignments.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on high-level decisions.
  • Plan and adjust shift schedules based on client needs.
  • Monitor property using GDBA Command Center tools.
  • Screen visitors and vendors; control access to protected sites.
  • Coordinate security plans and respond to emergencies.
  • Provide physical protection and logistical support during client travel.
  • Provide secure transportation as needed.
  • Survey and prepare locations prior to client arrival.
  • Document suspicious activities thoroughly.
  • Maintain readiness to address any threat.

Candidate Expectations:

  • Complete 12-day Introductory Essential Protector Skills (EPS) Training Academy.
  • Participate in the 2-year Professional Leadership Track (PLT), including 500 hours of training, mentoring, and certification, with opportunities for advanced academies.
  • Must be drug and nicotine free.
  • Pass pre-employment background checks.
  • Be able to swim.

  • $3,000 sign-on bonus.
