We are looking for a Part-Time Maintenance Technician, that shares these same values and is passionate about the property management industry. Our company is thriving and expanding, and we are seeking a talented and experienced Technician to join our team! An ideal candidate is results-driven, has a positive attitude, adapts quickly to change, and values teamwork.

This position will be based in Cortland, NY.

As a Maintenance Tech, your primary responsibilities include:

  • Inspect buildings, equipment and appliances for functionality, checking for faults and fixing them where they exist to keep all things running properly
  • Remain proactive by addressing maintenance issues before they occur and implement preventative maintenance work
  • Develop and maintain a good relationship with contractors, vendors, and site workers
  • Ensure that properties are safe and void of any danger to their occupants, visitors, and workers
  • Diagnose problems with appliances and facilitate prompt repairs for the convenience of property users
  • Carry out repairs on minor problems, such as light fixtures, clogged toilets, leakages, peeling wall and furniture placement/removal
  • Maintain open communication with property owners, liaising with consultants and property managers for information regarding operations, renovations, and authorizations
  • Clean and prepare vacated apartments and rooms, getting them ready for new residents to move in
  • Provide regular cleaning and trash removal for building common areas and grounds
  • Maintain a positive, productive relationship with tenants
  • Ensure timely response to any maintenance requests (same-day response goal)
  • Use company software Appfolio to manage work orders and scheduling

An ideal candidate will have:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1-3 Years of Maintenance Tech experience
  • Property Management experience preferred
  • Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, and renovation trades preferred
  • Ability to work independently
  • Reliable transportation is required
  • An impeccable client and customer relationship track record
  • Proficiency with industry software (Appfolio preferred)
  • Competency in the G-suite
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
