Recruits unemployed and underemployed individuals seeking retraining and/or upgrading of skills to remain competitive in the workplace; provides instruction, guidance and support to participants as it relates to career awareness, remediation, education training, employment placements and resource development; promotes program and graduates throughout the community. Examples of DutiesThe HRD Coordinator will:
- Enhance recruitment and outreach efforts to engage individuals most in need of career retraining.
- Provide focused instructional and programmatic support aligned with NC HRD guidelines.
- Strengthen employer partnerships and community resource integration to support student success and job placement.
- Ensure compliance with state reporting requirements and contribute to program evaluation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit and enroll individuals in need of career retraining, skill development, or educational advancement.
- Provide instruction, counseling, and support related to career awareness, academic remediation, occupational training, job placement, and resource access.
- Coordinate with community partners, local employers, and service agencies to develop and maintain opportunities for participants and program graduates.
- Monitor and assess program outcomes to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with labor market needs.
- Serve as a liaison between the program and the community to enhance visibility and engagement.
Minimum/Required Qualifications Minimum Education and Training
- Bachelor's Degree
- Prior HRD Coordinator Experience
Preferred Education
- A Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Previous experience in social work or adult education is preferred
