Columbus Behavioral Center for Children and Adolescents is a 56-bed, private residential behavioral health facility located inColumbus, Indianajust 45 minutes south ofIndianapolis. Set on 6.5 fully-fenced acres, our secure and therapeutic environment is designed to support the mental health needs ofmale and female youth ages 8 18.

We are currently seeking afull-time Medical Directorto lead ourchild and adolescent psychiatry services. This is a rewarding opportunity for a compassionate, experienced psychiatrist to make a lasting impact in a supportive, multidisciplinary care environment.

Position Highlights:

• Role:Medical Director, Child and Adolescent Residential Treatment Program
• Location:On-site at Columbus Behavioral Center, Columbus, Indiana
• Schedule:Full-time; Employed or Independent Contractor
• Treatment Settings:Residential and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) Programs
• Responsibilities Include:
• Leadership and oversight of psychiatric treatment services
• Supervision of staff PMHNPs
• Participation in clinical call rotation
• Collaboration with clinical and administrative teams
• Ensure compliance withUHSpolicies and healthcare regulations
• Contribute to the strategic planning and program development

Qualifications:

• ActiveIndiana medical licenseor eligibility to obtain
• MD or DOfrom an accredited medical school
• Board Certified in Psychiatry (Child & Adolescent Psychiatrypreferred)
• 3 5 years of clinical psychiatric experience required
• Leadership experience in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting preferred
• Ability to supervise Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs)
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills

Specialized Programming Includes:

• Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Residential Programfor girls ages
• Structured clinical programming focused on reducing self-harm, suicidal ideation, and impulsive behaviors
• Average length of stay: 3 to 9 months, tailored to individual progress

We work closely with families and community partners to ensure a successful transition back home or into an appropriate level of continued care.
