JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Psychiatry • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Tazewell County & Buchanan County, VA • Service Setting: Correctional Facility • Coverage Type: Clinical (Telehealth available; onsite preferred) • Coverage Period: 1 year • Clinical Shift Schedule: 40 hours/week (Specific days TBD) COVERAGE DATES • 1-year assignment (exact start date TBD) PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults • Phone Consults: Yes Provider should be available 24/7 for emergency consultations • Case Mix: General Psychiatry (correctional population) FACILITY INFORMATION • Office Equipment Available: Telehealth equipment available at DOC headquarters and many facilities • Support Staff Available: Psychiatrists COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active Virginia license • Board: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) • DEA: Active DEA Certification • Certifications: NPI • Experience: No history of malpractice or disciplinary actions • Other Qualifications: Ability to handle correctional population and emergency phone consults DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Conduct psychiatric assessments and medication management • Collaborate with the Chief Psychiatrist • Provide onsite or telehealth services based on facility needs • Be available for 24/7 emergency consultations via phone • Document care accurately in EMR (when specified)
