Prototype Engineer - Schaeffler Group USA : Job Details

Design processes and CNC-based programs for machines to create physical objects (i.e. parts, work pieces, tools, racks, etc.) from virtual (CAD) data, in production and quality assurance area. Execute programming or program documentation, maintenance, optimization for new parts or work pieces, for a variety of processing machines. Elaborate concepts for optimizing the product quality and economics in the tooling process (including process analyses, evaluation, development of a target concept and implementation). Support or participate in the selection of machines, tool tests, and preparation of invest decisions in cooperation with Engineers and accountable management. Provide support for optimized tooling workflow, or support CNC Operations Technicians or Machine Operators to use machines or programs effectively. Coordinate new development of machining and correction procedures and supervise implementation in production, if required.
