Job Description: The Claims Team at Everest Insurance, a member of the Everest Re Group, is looking for an experienced Commercial Property Executive General Adjuster to join our Property and Builders Risk Claims team to field adjust the largest, most complex claims and manage related litigation.

Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To:
  • Field adjusting large Commercial Property and Builders Risk claims including loss inspections, coverage analysis, accurate scope of damage, and investigation of Business Interruption and delay claims
  • Provides mentoring, leadership, training and oversight to Claims Professionals
  • Coverage analysis of large, complex Commercial Property and Builders Risk claims including preparation of reservation of rights and coverage position letters
  • Strong knowledge of Property and/or Builders Risk Forms and Endorsements
  • Management and direction of outside counsel and vendors including auditing of same
  • Preparation of case summary reports related to matters of significant reserve activity
  • Timely and appropriate setting of claim reserves for largest and most complex claims
  • Development and execution of claim and organizational strategies as well as resolution strategies
  • Negotiation and resolution of claims
  • Leadership of special projects
  • Determine and resolve workload and assignment issues to ensure effective claims processing, expense management and claims disposition
  • Extensive communication with insureds, brokers, reinsurers, actuaries, and business unit contacts
  • Attend client meetings and industry functions to support retention and development of client relationships and business
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • 15+ years of experience field adjusting Complex Commercial Property and Builders Risk claims
  • Experience managing litigation and current, working knowledge of jurisdictional laws and regulations
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Insurance industry designation(s)/certification(s) preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
  • High proficiency in formulating written and/or computer assisted estimates for large and/or complex claims.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to evaluate large scope damages and determine coverage issues involving a wide variety of loss scenarios
  • Currently holds or readily can obtain all required adjuster licenses
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims and the insurance legal and regulatory environment
  • Knowledge of claims handling or insurance legal statutes and procedures
  • Ability to identify and use relevant data and metrics to best manage claims
  • Collaborative mind-set and willingness to work with people outside immediate reporting hierarchy to improve processes and generate optimal departmental efficiency
  • Ability to and willingness to present to senior management and other group settings
  • Ability to influence others and resolve complex, disputed claims
  • Moderate travel required

The base salary range for this position is $152,000 - $225,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
