As our Property Accountant, you will be responsibility for turnover reporting, tenant billing, collection and database integrity in respect of Brands in the Village.

What you will be doing

  • Liaising with Leasing, Legal and Retail teams on maintenance of the Tenant database and ensuring the integrity of the Tenant database in relation to any outstanding data.
  • Facilitate completion of debtor account setup in Oracle Cloud & MRI, for new and existing brands.
  • Partnering with Brands to ensure the compliance of the finance terms stated in the Brand Contracts in relation to turnover reporting, Direct Debits, bank guarantees delivery and renewal, legal deposits, etc. Keep track of brand compliance and follow up with Emails/Letters/Calls to the brands where needed.
  • Ensuring complete weekly reporting of sales by brands in the daily sales portal, following up with retail managers to obtain missing information.
  • Analyze sales variances between store reported sales, head office certificates and audited certificates to ensure data is reported accurately per the brand contracts. Investigate discrepancies thoroughly with the stores & head offices and escalate as needed.
  • Producing weekly, monthly, and annual reports on Village turnover.
  • Raising quarterly and other periodic invoices relating to turnover, royalty, licence fees, base rent and service charges. Manage invoicing calendar so invoicing is completed when due per the contracts.
  • Managing direct debit processes at relevant collection times including setting-up new direct debit accounts.
  • Telephoning customers to ensure payment of relevant debts and Issuing relevant debt-chasing letters if required.
  • Posting cash receipts & Bank Reconciliations.
  • Reconciliation of debtor reports to the Trial balance and reporting of any variances to management.
  • Preparation of month end reports, reconciling data between MRI & Oracle and calculation of month end income accruals in time for Monthly reporting.
  • Performing individual sales ledger account reconciliations, flagging issues on a timely basis to the Finance Director.
  • Preparing ad hoc sales and billing reports to enable analysis of brand & village performance
  • Participating in Finance Department meetings and other meetings as required

  • Finance/Sales Ledger experience is essential with experience in Property Management/Retail also desirable.
  • Experience in raising invoices on a regular basis & processing Direct Debit collections
  • Organized, proactive and enthusiastic.
  • Computer literate with strong MRI, Oracle, Word and Excel skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines working under pressure at times to meet these deadlines
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills & attention to detail.
  • To be happy contacting tenants by phone on a regular basis.
  • Commercial awareness
