An individual could be successful if they possess the following.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe Promotion & Events Manager is responsible to oversee daily operations of marketing programs including promotions, events/entertainment and marketing initiatives. This role will assist with all areas of Marketing, including Acquisition, Retention and Branding both on-property and online.
  • Responsible for successful coordination of all promotions and events; ensures that all timelines and event schedules are met.
  • Assists the VP of Marketing and Marketing Director reviewing market analysis to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates and develops promotional campaigns.
  • Coordinates with the Marketing Director in establishing contacts in the marketplace to produce new ideas for on-going special events.
  • Performs research and prepares proposals and assists in planning and budgeting of special events
  • Works directly with Marketing Staff to offer any scheduling updates, (new) special events and entertainment offered
  • Coordinates with Marketing and Player Services teams to meet the events staffing needs; supervises staff at offsite events
  • Evaluates the success of special events and casino entertainment on an on-going basis
  • Assists with promotions and special events. Works the casino floor for all promotions, prize drawings, and special events, while providing guest service and floor excitement. Wears costume or uniform while working events. Receives work direction from Marketing Director or assigned project lead when participating in the preparation or execution of a marketing event.
  • Tracks and monitors all winners and prize distribution. Oversees drawings and assists guests with games, scanning, and seating
  • Serves as point of contact for promotion conflicts. Responsible for promotional issues before, during, and after events
  • Collaboratively determines the location of all marketing collateral on the casino floor. Posts and takes down all collateral, posters, slot toppers, etc.
  • Coordinates set-up and tear-down of promotions and decorations. Assists with promotions; coordinating game creation, and ordering prizes
  • Tracks, organizes, and completes inventory of marketing storage rooms
  • Oversees the daily activities of staff to ensure successful operation of events and promotions as measured by guest satisfaction.
  • Assists in the development, planning and operations of all promotions and special events for Casino Marketing.
  • Assists with setup and execution of all casino promotions and special events.
  • Assists the Marketing Director in all aspects of the Promotions/Events department to include but not limited to, monthly promotions for slots, tables, slot tournaments, table tournaments, and any additional related promotions or special events.
  • Assists in the creation and execution of promotions off-site in coordination with our sponsorship venues and festivals.
  • Assists in the distribution of prizes to winners of promotions or events adhering to the policies and procedures of the said promotion or event.
  • Ability to perform a variety of duties with extreme care, diligence and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining sound judgment and superior decision making.
  • Ability to communicate with all departments to coordinate and implement all promotions and special events.
  • Communicates effectively at all times with guests, sponsors venues and vendors.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Undergraduate degree in Marketing or related field
  • 5+ years gaming industry experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of multiple areas of Marketing, not just singular focus
  • 2+ years supervisory/management experience
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has supervisory responsibilities.
  • Responsible for staff development and training programs.
  • Responsible for rewards and recognition program to maximize employee engagement.
  • Evaluates team members within department and delivers constructive feedback to employees in regards to performance.
  • Determines recommendation for staffing (including interviewing and hiring) and scheduling (planning, assigning and directing work) to meet business needs.
  • Determines work procedures and expedites workflow.
  • Responsible for employee performance (disciplining, coaching, counseling).
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have acceptable driving history as determined by Oaklawn's auto insurance carrier.
