Summary:

Supervises all internal construction/modification/refresh projects at the hospital and associated offsites.

Constructs, repairs and maintains wooden structures, furniture, millwork, windows, floors and equipment used for carpentry. Installs and repairs locksets, hinges and hardware.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION:

• High school graduate, technical school.

• A certified Journeyman's card to the Carpenter trade; or two (2) years actual working experience.

• Valid NYS driver's license.

EXPERIENCE:

• At least five (5) years experience working as a carpenter or in a similar job.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

• Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, schedule forms or blueprints.

• Computer literacy is desirable.

• Responsible for overseeing minor construction projects, working with other trades and outside contractors.
