The Classroom Teacher is under the supervision of the on-site Program Director, Childhood Services Program Coordinator, and Director of Childhood Services. The Classroom Teacher manages a classroom at a designated site within the service area.

This posting is open for the ongoing recruitment of individuals seeking employment as a Classroom Teacher.

This pool position allows applicants to be considered for any available Classroom Teacher role.

Positions are available at various locations within Childhood Services.

The Classroom Teacher follows the guidelines of the A-State handbook, completes daily paperwork including children and staff records, staff leave, substitute information, USDA-food documentation, assists in recruiting early childhood professionals, provides training, and completes reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Must attend staff meetings, ensure proper documentation, be available for site visits for support/training, and adhere to Arkansas Better Chance Rules and Regulations, Minimum Licensing Regulations, and Quality Standards/Better Beginnings.

Responsible for implementing the classroom's daily schedule and curriculum, monitoring the classroom and participants, maintaining communication with staff, children, and families, and assisting in documentation, reporting, scheduling, monitoring, assessing, planning, developing, and evaluating classroom activities.

The Classroom Teacher performs other duties as assigned by the Program Manager-Coordinator/Director. Job and classroom assignments may change as per program needs.

Knowledge of and responsibility for classroom support in areas such as: Daily Lesson Plans, Minimum Licensing Requirements, Current ABC Rules and Regulations, Work Sampling System, Ounce Assessment System, COPA, ECERS, ITERS, and Ounce.

Knowledge of teaching infant/toddler/preschool children.Ability to develop, plan, and implement goals, collaborate effectively with staff.Skills in organizing, prioritizing, implementing, assessing, and reorganizing program components and procedures.

Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.Additional hours as needed, occasional after-school activities.Position locations include Bay, Hughes, Helena, Jonesboro, Parkin, Phillips County, West Memphis, and Wynne.

Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood Development.Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Development, or a related field preferred.Degree exemption considered with requisite hours (12) in early childhood and/or child development. Transcript required.Minimum of 1-3 years' experience in developmentally appropriate practices, curriculum development, and classroom management.
