Job Description: Senior Project Manager at Brown and Caldwell

Brown and Caldwell, a national environmental engineering firm, is seeking a senior-level Project Manager to join our diverse team in Los Angeles. You will lead and manage water and wastewater projects for clients such as MWD, LADWP, LABOE, LASAN, and LACPW. Your responsibilities include providing solutions for complex issues, utility management, business development, capital planning, design, engineering, and overseeing construction phases.

The ideal candidate should possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be highly organized, and capable of working in a diverse team environment while managing multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage project scope, schedule, and budget; negotiate agreements.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including coordinating with subconsultants, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery, and maintaining quality standards.
• Communicate effectively with clients, project teams, discipline leaders, and stakeholders to ensure project progress and quality.
• Build and lead project teams, fostering understanding and delivery of client needs.
• Simplify complex topics for non-technical audiences and prepare summaries for executives and stakeholders.
• Lead change and risk management efforts for large projects or programs.
• Perform quality reviews and manage project permitting and documentation.
• Prioritize health and safety, ensuring compliance with relevant programs.
• Supervise and mentor team members.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, or related); Master's preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in municipal water/wastewater utility engineering.
• PE license in California or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• PMP certification is a plus.
• Proven project management experience on large municipal projects.
• Strong planning, negotiation, conflict resolution, and self-motivation skills.

Salary Range:

The starting pay range for this position is $130,000 - $177,000, depending on skills, experience, and education.
