Overview

The Nexus Water Group team seeks a Project Manager - Utilities responsible for water and wastewater utility construction projects from initial contract negotiations through startup and warranty termination.

Work Location and Schedule

Based in Charlotte, NC with some travel.

What You'll Do
  • Oversee complex technical projects, meeting goals and deadlines.
  • Maintain activity and progress reports for stakeholders.
  • Manage all project development phases.
  • Hire, direct, evaluate, and discipline Construction Inspectors.
  • Obtain engineering proposals, monitor budgets, and coordinate construction activities.
  • Track project expenses and hours.
  • Coordinate daily project activities and personnel.
  • Process invoices and project paperwork promptly.
  • Ensure projects stay within time and budget parameters.
  • Notify management of escalations or issues affecting project success.
  • Coordinate emergency project approvals.
  • Travel daily between worksites as needed.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years engineering experience, preferably in water/wastewater projects.
Education and Licenses
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • Valid driver's license.
Nice to Have
  • MS or MBA, PE license, familiarity with water modeling software.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Mathematical, report-writing, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret soil and hydro-geological reports.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment
  • Office setting with extensive focus on screens and tasks.
  • Up to 25% regional travel for training, meetings, and project management.
