Position Overview
The Project Manager – Engineered Products is responsible for overseeing projects from award through completion. After receiving a handoff from the Sales Engineer, the Project Manager serves as the main point of contact for the client, coordinating all aspects of execution—managing schedules, issuing purchase orders, tracking shipments, processing invoices, and ensuring final closeout. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple projects at various stages simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare competitive and accurate proposals, quotes, and bids for engineered electrical projects.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, schedules, and progress reports.
- Ensure proper project closeout, including documentation and post-project follow-up.
- Oversee service work for sold equipment, ensuring smooth coordination between manufacturers and customers.
- Issue purchase orders to suppliers and monitor order status.
- Track outstanding proposals and follow up to negotiate and finalize opportunities.
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients, vendors, and internal teams, providing regular updates and resolving project-related issues.
- Process invoices and monitor payment status.
- Coordinate submittal reviews and approvals.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree required; preference for technical or engineering-related fields.
- Familiarity with low and medium voltage systems is advantageous.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and ERP systems (Solar Eclipse or SE Advantage preferred).
- 3–5 years of experience in project management or within the electrical/engineered products sector preferred.
- Ability to serve as a technical resource for engineered electrical products is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Experience with job management software and reading one-line diagrams/take-offs is beneficial.
