Job Description :

Akkodis is seeking a Project Manager for a contract job with a client in New York, NY. The role involves leading Agile ceremonies and coaching teams in Scrum practices, while managing project timelines and resolving delivery roadblocks. Rate Range: $49/hour to 56/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Project Manager job responsibilities include:

  • Lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint reviews to ensure team alignment and delivery.
  • Coach and mentor Agile teams on Scrum practices, fostering continuous improvement and high performance.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business goals and stakeholder expectations.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to maintain and prioritize backlogs, write effective user stories, and define clear acceptance criteria.
  • Track and report project metrics using JIRA, Confluence, and Excel dashboards, including KPIs and sprint progress.
  • Resolve impediments and facilitate communication across teams to ensure smooth execution and timely delivery of Capital Markets-related initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field (master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years as a Project Manager or Scrum Master in IT, with at least 5 years in Capital Markets projects within Financial Institutions.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Market Risk concepts and processes.
  • Strong understanding of Financial and Derivatives-related Risk concepts such as Credit Risk and Liquidity Risk.
