Project Manager - Steel Fabrication Industry Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee steel fabrication projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management within the steel fabrication or manufacturing industry, with proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD software. Experience with JobBoss or other ERP systems is a significant advantage. Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage steel fabrication projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and procurement teams to develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Utilize SolidWorks and CAD to review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and designs.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to align project expectations and deliverables.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control processes.
  • Leverage ERP systems (e.g., JobBoss) to estimate and track project metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project execution and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field; equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of project management experience in the steel fabrication or manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD software for design review and project planning.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems is a strong plus.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities to manage cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of steel fabrication processes, materials, and industry standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with ERP systems for project quoting, tracking and resource management.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and process optimization.
  • Problem-solving skills to address project challenges and deliver solutions under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to multitask.
