A well-capitalized independent power producer is hiring a Project Manager to lead utility-scale battery energy storage projects in the New York metro area. This is a hands-on role with direct responsibility for full-cycle project delivery, from early constructability reviews through commissioning.

The incoming PM will step into active, funded work. The company recently moved nine new BESS projects into RFP and is expanding its project management team to meet the growing pipeline. This is not a coordination or support role. PMs here own project execution, budget, and schedule with real authority and executive visibility.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of full-cycle project management experience. Must include ownership of construction timelines, budget, and vendor performance, not just APM or Project Engineer responsibilities.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably electrical or mechanical. International equivalents are acceptable.
• Proven experience managing EPC execution, navigating permitting and utility coordination, and driving projects through to COD.
• Strong communication and presence. This role interfaces directly with utilities, AHJs, and vendors, must be able to represent the project clearly and confidently.

Nice to Have

• Background in solar, storage, wind, or large-scale infrastructure
• NYC or other high-density permitting experience
• Budget responsibility of $5M+
• Familiarity with interconnection processes, design reviews, and permitting compliance
