Position: Project Manager
The Project Manager is responsible for managing environmental investigation and remediation projects, including preliminary assessments, remediation, and long-term operations & maintenance. Projects may involve leaking UST, chlorinated solvent plumes, Brownfield properties, and asbestos abatement/demolition. The manager supervises project engineers, geologists/scientists, engineers, field technicians, site supervisors, and craft labor during project execution.
Primary Responsibilities and Job Duties
Manage and supervise project engineers, scientists, and field technicians.Manage and execute subcontracts with partners, laboratories, drillers, abatement/demolition contractors, injection contractors, etc.Delegate work based on expertise, experience, and deadlines.Review technical reports related to site assessments, inspections, or remediation.Coordinate and supervise investigation activities and remedial actions.Maintain knowledge of environmental regulations such as UST programs, CERCLA, and asbestos regulations.Forecast Estimate to Complete based on costs incurred and remaining work.Update field activity schedules in collaboration with the Site Superintendent/Field Manager.Interface with clients and regulators, serving as KEMRON's primary contact.Track project progress and costs using Microsoft Project 2000.Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including cost tracking and invoicing.Prepare work plans and proposals for additional assessments or remediation.Maintain risk registers and recommend mitigation strategies.Oversee subcontractor performance and resolve disputes.Coordinate field activities of subcontractors and staff.Participate in routine QA/QC conference calls.Monitor implementation of Quality Communication Forms.Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or Geology.
- PE or PG registration preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years managing environmental projects.
- Ability to prepare and review technical reports.
- Proficiency in managing subcontractors and resolving disputes.
- Experience managing multiple projects, costs, and invoices.
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification required.
- 8-hour OSHA HAZWOPER annual updates required.
- Strong prioritization and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL and SharePoint is a plus.
- Positive, organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented personality traits.
Other Criteria
- Residence in the Atlanta, GA area preferred.
- Ability to support travel to project sites in medium to large cities.
Work Context and Physical/Mental Demands
- Prolonged computer work.
- Travel to project sites required.
- Support field activities, possibly in outdoor conditions and hazardous environments.
- Ability to pass OSHA HAZWOPER physical and drug screening.
- Work near moving vehicles and machinery, with PPE including respiratory protection.
- Ability to traverse terrains, lift up to 25 pounds, and work in PPE.
