About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Operations team, specializing in automotive facilities management, paint shop experience, and construction projects, including warranty management. The ideal candidate will excel at overseeing project execution from planning to completion, managing contractors and resources, and ensuring contract compliance. Key qualities include strong leadership, effective communication, and a proactive approach to resolving warranty issues and upholding customer relationships. The role demands ownership of project scope, budgeting, scheduling, and the ability to collaborate on equipment decisions while maintaining high standards of quality and accountability throughout all phases of the project.

Responsibilities

  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in line with client and organizational goals.
  • Oversee construction and operation of paint shops, ensuring contract compliance and warranty support.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, allocating resources effectively.
  • Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams, assigning tasks and setting clear expectations.
  • Monitor progress, track milestones, and manage timelines to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, implementing contingency plans as needed.
  • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, providing updates on status, timelines, and challenges.
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure deliverables meet standards and client expectations.
  • Manage project documentation, including reports and budgets, ensuring policy compliance.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to assess outcomes and document best practices.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advances, leveraging new technologies to enhance processes.
  • Comply with company quality, environmental, and safety policies, as well as relevant laws, regulations, and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field; PMP certification or equivalent is highly preferred.

  • Flexibility and mobility to travel across the states and abroad if needed.

Preferred Skills

  • 10 years of Project management in construction and industrial systems
  • Experience with paint shop operations and equipment replacement
  • Estimating, quoting, and budgeting for large-scale projects (up to $100 million)
  • Automotive industry expertise
  • Greenfield's experience is a plus

Location & Mobility

The role is in Troy, MI, and involves 50% travel to sites such as Lansing and Flint. Project locations may vary.
