Job Summary: Under general supervision, the Project Manager is responsible for managing complex architectural projects, overseeing design and construction processes, and ensuring compliance with scope and budget. Acts as a liaison among the Board, campus representatives, architectural firms, and contractors.

Job Duties:

  • Leads project reviews for compliance with program, scope, budget, and regulations.
  • Reviews plans, specifications, and project documents for conformance with objectives.
  • Coordinates work of contract architects to ensure code and regulation compliance.
  • Assists in preparing project budgets and related documents, approves designer pay requests.
  • Provides recommendations to campuses regarding design, construction, and maintenance issues; travels as necessary.
  • Observes construction projects and reviews change orders.
  • Updates facilities project database using office software.
  • Participates in facilities reviews and physical survey processes.
  • Maintains standards, procedures, records, and performs additional tasks as required.
  • Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field, with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 10+ years of experience in educational, institutional, or commercial construction projects.
    • Experience as a project manager in higher education facilities design and construction.
    • Current registration or qualifying experience to register as an architect/engineer in Tennessee.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficient in Microsoft Office, excellent communication skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
