About the job Project Manager (Aviation) Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, direction, and management of airport facility project teams to ensure on-schedule completion within or below budget and in accordance with contractual obligations
- Develop and manage scopes of work to meet project goals and objectives
- Plan and define program goals, devising effective methods to achieve them
- Participate in public meetings and negotiations with regulatory agencies
- Provide regular updates and reports to executive leadership
- Establish and maintain a Project Management Plan and monitor draft/final deliverables for adherence to scope and criteria
- Supervise the execution of all technical, fiscal, and administrative project functions
- Oversee field responsibilities, including procurement, payment to contractors/consultants, and labor coordination
- Monitor budgets, schedules, and planning with internal teams to ensure compliance with project goals
- Identify and mitigate potential cost overruns, schedule delays, or scope changes through proactive planning
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation for change orders
- Track and report progress to management, highlighting key milestones or issues impacting cost/schedule
- Organize and lead regular project status meetings and develop actionable steps
- Perform other project-related responsibilities as appropriate
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical/business field
- Broad experience in design and construction management, including major commercial, public safety, or airport facility projects
- Proven ability to manage and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams including architects, engineers, general contractors, and subcontractors
- Strong knowledge of civil, mechanical, electrical, low-voltage, and plumbing systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Document Management Systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong knowledge of industry regulations and best practices
- At least 10 years of experience managing facility projects valued at $10 million or more (preferred)
- Familiarity with Design/Build (DB) and other alternative delivery methods (preferred)
- Professional certifications or registrations (e.g., PMP, PE, CCM) are a plus
- May be required to work various shifts depending on project needs
- Must be capable of performing responsibilities in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
